We are Gamers of KL.
We are just a few of the many members of the Malaysian gaming group Gamers of Kuala Lumpur (Gamers of KL, or just GOKL).
We love roleplaying games (RPGs). We don't just love playing them, we love creating our gaming experiences, crafting crazy improvised adventure stories for our members to join in on. GOKL includes professional game developers, artists, writers and most importantly, honest hardworking Game Masters, without whom we would not be the largest known RPG community in Malaysia. You can find GOKL members on Google Groups, Facebook, Google+, World of Tanks [GOKL] and various other places around the Internet. |
We play Night's Black Agents.
Ever since we started playing the legendary Delta Green campaign for the Call of Cthulhu RPG, we've known how awesome it can be to combine the tropes of the modern technothriller with elements of horror and dark fantasy.
Night's Black Agents from Pelgrane Press taps into a similar vein of entertainment. We use it to tell the story of hardened spies pursuing a monstrous vampire conspiracy across the underworld of modern Europe. Of course, Bram Stoker would approve. He wrote Dracula in 1897 as a contemporary tale of courage vs corruption. His heroes used the latest technologies of the time: steam trains, telegraphy, phonographs and Winchester rifles. Were Stoker alive today, I have no doubt that Dr Seward would record his findings on his iPhone instead of a wax cylinder, while Quincy Morris would be slinging an Arctic Warfare Magnum instead of a Winchester. Read on, and maybe you'll get to follow our Agents as we hack Dracula's botnet and bring it down. Or something like that. |
What is a roleplaying game?
"A roleplaying game is like improvisational radio theatre." - John Tynes, Unknown Armies.
